FINAL EXAM

TEAM MAPCAP!

We created this logo for our team MAPCAP. The significance behind this is that CAP 105 is our course so we used CAP at the end of our name. The beginning is for each group member. We used the first letter of each of our names. M is for Matt, A is for Alyssa and P is for Peri.

SOME CUTE PICTURES OF THE CUTEST CAP105 GROUP!!

AMARANTH! The Amaranth is located in front of GVSU’s Mackinac Hall. At the beginning of freshman year, before students knew the names of the academic buildings, people would refer to Mackinac as the hall with the yellow statue in front of it. This statue was made in 2002 by Cyril Lixenberg.
We took a little dip in the fountain outside the Student Services Building (STU).. oops! This fountain is one of the beautiful features on GVSU’s campus, especially during the summer! Tours are held in STU and this is one of the first things you see when touring GVSU. Perfect location for it!
This statue is untitled, meaning it does not have a name. It is located in front of Copeland, a freshman dormitory. It was created by James Clover. James Clover also has artwork near Zumberge on the Allendale campus, near Eberhard on the downtown campus and artwork at the Holland campus.
and of course the CLOCKTOWER! GVSU is not GVSU without our clocktower! It is known as the clocktower, but its real name is the Cook Carillon Tower. It is 100 feet tall and it chimes every 15 minutes! It was built in 1994 and contains 48 bronze bells that were created in the Netherlands.

MY FAVORITE ART SCULPTURE ON CAMPUS

The rock on freshman land is my favorite spot on campus! I love it because it allows students to show creativity! Anybody can paint this rock at any time! It is painted differently almost every week! Before I graduate, I will paint the rock!

MEME’S

Hadouken Meme
Matt was driving me nuts, so I hadoukened him away!
Quidditching Meme
Once I submit this final exam, I am done with CAP 105!
Vadering Meme
The bus is always making me late, so I choked it.. hope the students found a different ride!!

ANOTHER MEME (but not as good because it is not me in the picture)

I love this meme.. mostly because it is so true to me. I am a huge procrastinator and I love Willy Wonka! Memes are important because they bring smiles to people’s faces and they also are basically free advertising (PR) to the company. This is to the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Another big meme that was going around earlier in the year was a Spongebob meme! I found this meme on Twitter!

GVSU’s FOUNDATION INFOGRAPHIC

information from https://www.gvsu.edu/giving/ar2018/

This is the information I found most interesting from the GVSU’s 2018 annual report for the foundation. I was not impressed by the infographic. I found it to actually be kind of boring and it had too much text and not enough images. I found it to be very boring and I really did not want to read it. I would have expected a lot more from a university.

What did shock me though, was the lack of private donations from 2012-2017. Why was much less given those years than others? If anything, I would have expected the most being given in 2018, second most in 2017, third most in 2016 and so on. You get the point. I was shocked by these results. Obama was elected in 2008 and Trump was elected in in 2016, so it does not make sense to me. The endowment fund growth is pretty exponential, which is great!
